I created PERMA Pathways to bring together Solution
Focused Hypnotherapy, positive psychology, self-hypnosis, structured
reflection, and practical wellbeing development into one coherent programme.
My work is for people who value clarity, calm, depth, and
practical structure.
It is not about someone else 'fixing' you. It is about
helping you understand your patterns, strengthen your agency, and build a
sustainable platform for wellbeing.
Why I Created PERMA Pathways
From therapy sessions with handouts to a guided wellbeing
pathway.
PERMA Pathways grew from my earlier Hypnotherapy for
Wellbeing programme.
Over time, I became increasingly clear that some clients
wanted more than open-ended therapy sessions. They wanted structure. They
wanted depth. They wanted written material they could return to, hypnosis
recordings they could use between sessions, and a clear pathway for building
sustainable wellbeing.
PERMA Pathways was created in response to that.
It is a structured 10-session programme designed to help
reflective adults move from coping to consciously building a wellbeing platform
they can continue developing long after our work together ends.
The aim is not a temporary lift.
The aim is a first working version of a more stable,
meaningful, and self-directed way of living.
My Professional Background
A practical, structured background before hypnotherapy.
Before becoming a hypnotherapist, my professional background
was rooted in technical and operational work.
I worked in technology-led materials processing, including
technical chemistry roles in the pharmaceutical industry, before moving into
wider operations and management roles. That background shaped how I think:
clearly, practically, systematically, and with an interest in how things work.
Hypnotherapy was a long-standing personal interest that
eventually became a professional direction. I trained in Solution Focused
Hypnotherapy and opened PERMA Hypnotherapy in 2021, combining SFH with positive
psychology and a strong interest in sustainable wellbeing.
That blend of structure, science, reflection, and human
change is now central to PERMA Pathways.
Training and Professional Standards

I trained with the Clifton Practice Hypnotherapy Training
School and hold the Diploma in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy.
My work is informed by ongoing professional development, and
continued study across areas including Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, positive
psychology, wellbeing, self-hypnosis, and the long-term impact of early
experiences.
Professional standards matter.
A credible therapeutic relationship should include openness
about training, professional membership, ongoing development, insurance,
approach, fees, and whether the work is the right fit for the client.
Good work begins with clarity and trust.
How I work
Collaborative. Structured. Future-focused.
My approach is straightforward.
I want you to understand the ideas we are working with,
apply them to your own life, and develop skills you can keep using after our
sessions have finished.
The work is collaborative. You remain the expert on your own
lived experience. My role is to guide the process, offer structure, share
useful models, support trance work, and help you identify the next useful steps
in a meaningful direction.
The emphasis is not on endlessly reworking the past.
It is on understanding what is happening now, strengthening
your ability to respond rather than react, and building the future you want to
move toward.

Why I Work With a Small Number of Clients
Depth needs space
I work with a small number of clients at any one time.
That is intentional.
PERMA Pathways is not designed as a high-volume,
one-size-fits-all programme. It is structured, but it also needs to be paced,
personalised, and integrated properly.
Working with fewer clients allows space for thoughtful
preparation, relaxed sessions, responsive pacing, and proper attention to the
person in front of me.
This reflects the kind of work PERMA Pathways is.
This is not about rushing people through a process.
My Approach to Hypnosis and Self-Hypnosis
Trance is collaborative, not controlling.
Many people have understandable questions about hypnosis.
My view is simple: therapeutic trance is not something I 'do
to' you. It is something we do together.
Trance is a natural, focused, absorbed state. People experience it differently at different times. It is not about losing control, being made to do things, or disappearing into unconsciousness. It is about
creating the conditions for calmer, clearer, more resourceful states to emerge.
Modern hypnotherapy, as I practise it, is not about
dependency on the therapist.
It is about you developing your agency.
That is why self-hypnosis is an important part of my work.
You are not simply receiving hypnosis during sessions: you are also learning
how to develop your own capacity to settle, focus, rehearse, reflect, and
support your wellbeing beyond our time together.
Is My Approach Right for You?
The right fit matters.
My approach may be right for you if you value structure,
reflection, practical tools, and a calm, collaborative process.
It is likely to suit you if you are functioning reasonably
well, but know you are not flourishing — and you are ready to take an active
role in building your wellbeing.
It may not be right if you are looking for someone to ‘fix’
you passively, if life currently feels too unstable for structured work, or if
you need crisis, medical, psychiatric, or trauma-specialist support.
That is why the first step is a suitability conversation.
Not a sales call. Not a pressure conversation.
A thoughtful discussion about fit, timing, and the right
next step.
Sometimes that will be PERMA Pathways. Sometimes standard
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy may be a better first step. Sometimes another
form of support may be more appropriate.
Good therapeutic work begins with honesty.
